BlockPool is proud to officially announce the 25 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) selected for funding and participation in the bespoke Business and Technical Support Programme for blockchain and distributed ledger technology (BDLT) implementation.
The Blockpool project is funded under Horizon 2020 INNOSUP and is expected to run for the next 10 months.
It consists of a pilot scheme for the uptake of BDLTs by SMEs. During the programme, the selected SMEs will bring their project ideas one step closer to the market and test opportunities, challenges and risks associated with BDLTs in different context and sectors. The outcomes of the project will support the uptake of BDLTs by SMEs and inform policy and regulators to create appropriate framework conditions. The project spans across various industries beyond financial markets, including transport, logistics, energy and social good.
SMEs were invited to submit their proposals. The top twenty-five proposals were selected to join the acceleration programme.
This programme consists of:
- Financial support of 30.000€ for each SME to turn their pilot ideas into viable businesses;
- A designated mentor to support them throughout the process;
- BDLT education, including a Massive Open Online Course and webinars;
- The opportunity to attend bootcamps across the EU to expand BDLT knowledge and network.
Overall, 109 applications were received from 27 different countries on all the eight sectors present in Blockpool’s area of interest. Approximately 50% of the proposals received were cross-border proposals, where two companies from different EU member states decided to collaborate.
Following the selection process, Blockpool is pleased to present the following 25 SMEs as winners and look forward to a fruitful collaboration over the coming 10 months.
The training activities as well as the celebration of bootcamps are open to the general public. The project invites blockchain lovers to stay tuned and join in this Blockpool adventure.
